Preliminary Task

Preliminary exercise: the introductory music/jingle for a show on the radio with a presenter introducing and greeting their guest (who must respond) and playing an archive sound clip relating to the guest (approximately 30-40 seconds duration in total). This exercise is to demonstrate understanding of sound editing and mixing and conventions of radio.

Draft 1

  

This was our first complete recording after editing. we were told that we could of made improvments so we done even more editing on it.

Jingle

This is the 3 second jingle we created using looperman&audacity

Final result 

We mad minor improvements to draft 1. This recording now has a fade in it which ends it of nicely instead of coming to a complete halt. We also amplified the presenters voice so that he can be heard over the sounded.

Research 

Planning 

Our first stage of planning was deciding a name for our radio station. Each member of the group contributed and put forward a name. We slowly narrowed it down till we all agreed upon POP.FM.  It was simple and easy, but yet still unique. We got our inspiration from other radio stations like Kiss, Capital, Magic ETC. 

This was the radio script me and my team came up with. We had to make sure that it wasn't too long and exceed the 45 second mark. We tried our best to keep it short and sweet and contain information to make it an interview. 

We were able to find an archive relevant to the star using soundcloud. Soundcloud was able to supply us with numerous amount of songs that were copy right free. We then decided upon a song to use as the archive related to our star.



Creating the jingle

To make the jingle we used a website called Looperman, This website is community based, since all the loops are made by other people it is royalty free. meaning you can take a a guitar riff and a drum beat and make your own music. We than overlapped the tracks on audacity to create our jingle

Production stages

This is the complete interview on audacity. We found it easier when editing to have a new track for every verses. this made it simple when editing instead of have one big audio file. teh bottom track is the background music which runs along the whole interview.

To be more originated we added a name to each track. This made the editing a lot more easier.
